BALDOR Australia has released a gear reducer said to deliver high torque densities of 450,000Nm in a compact footprint.
According to the manufacturer, the Dodge MagnaGear XTR achieves size reductions of 25% or more compared to helical or bevel gearing systems.
The gear reducer comes with high specification bearings, monoblock cast iron housings up to 175,000Nm, and oversized inspection covers.
The unit is available in either parallel shaft or right angle drive configurations, and allows for multiple mounting configurations.
According to the company, the reducer can be used in a variety of soft-start mechanisms, and features carburized, hardened and precision ground gearing.
The manufacturer designs a range of engineering accessories, including cooling systems, rigid couplings, torque arms, swing base mounts, tunnel housings and baseplates.
