the Wi-Fi units are highly mobile, self-configuring, and self healingA MOBILE wireless networking provider will introduce its wireless mesh solution to two new Australian surface-mining developments.
The Beaconsfield Gold and Pooncarie Mineral Sands Mines will use the Rajant BreadCrumb system on loader trucks and other equipment to communicate in real-time.
The technology is said to save money by increasing productivity and reducing costs, and increase safety by tracking vehicles and avoiding collisions.
According to the company, the Wi-Fi units are highly mobile, self-configuring, and self healing.
The equipment is said to eliminate network latency by using no ‘root node’, central access point or ‘LAN’ controller, and operates with a single switch.
The manufacturer says the system excels in highly dense networks where a high number of devices are working. Radio options are available for 802.11b and b/g, with security levels from WEP, WPA, WPA2, Type 1 SecNet11 and FIPS 140-2.
