THE Pronal Group is expanding distribution of its lifting cushions in Australia following a Queensland State Coroner’s call for high capacity airbags for mine safety and rescue.
The Pronal Group, is represented in Australian by Air Springs Supply, and its newest range includes powerful spreading cushions that can part plant and machinery components or split and lift rocks. Ultra thin bags which can lift weights of more than 65t are also part of the range.
According to Air Springs, Pronal’s lifting cushions respond to the coroner’s call for coal mining operations to equip each underground district with airbags of sufficient capacity to move or lift heavy equipment. The call comes after an inquest into the death of a miner crushed between a shuttle car and wall.
Air Springs claims Pronal lifting cushions are inflated by compressed air and can delicately raise loads ranging from pipelines, trucks, tracked vehicles, beams, bridge components, building components, machinery and resource development structures.
Pronal cushions incorporate Kevlar textile which is said to be five times stronger than steel and suited for repetitive work in harsh environments.
Air Springs says safety attributes of Pronal cushions include non-slip surfaces for maximum friction when stacking two cushions, cross-marking for easy centering under load and inscription of basic safety rules on the product.
