Thiess goes pink in Queensland
Thiess hopes to raise $40,000 for research THIESS has used a pink Caterpillar 789C dump truck at the Burton coal mine in Queensland to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The initiative, called the Pink Truck Campaign, is part of the company’s 12 month fundraising campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer.
Thiess hopes to raise $40,000 for research into the disease before Pink Ribbon Day in 2009 on 26 October.
Thiess area manager, Simone Wetzler, says the campaign aims to support women through mining.
“Women are one of the largest untapped resources available to our industry and this campaign further demonstrates our commitment to the care of women and their families,” she said.
