Railcar unloader trains into Pilbara
METSO will supply two twin-cell rotary railcar unloader systems METSO will supply two twin-cell rotary railcar unloader systems for mining operations in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
Pilbara Infrastructure will use the systems at its Anderson Point site to unload trains of iron ore coming from the Cloudbreak and Christmas Creek mines.
Each system consists of a train indexer, train locks and a twin-cell rotary railcar unloader.
According to the company, the equipment is capable of unloading at a rate of approximately 10,800t per hour for each system.
The $70m order also comprises engineering, design and start-up assistance of the unloaders.
