Poor mine vehicle maintenance found among Bowen Basin operators

TWENTY mine trucks have been taken off the road after a coal mine audit of the Bowen Basin.

The Queensland Mines Inspectorate conducted an audit across 46 coal mines in the region.

The inspectors found that many operators had neglected to maintain their mine vehicles, especially in regard to mine maintenance.

The Inspectorate says it is also concerned about the use of highway trucks on mine sites and the standard of maintenance.
