Mobile mining school answers for skills shortage

A MOBILE mining school initiative will help 30 Indigenous job seekers gain skills with mining equipment and find work in the industry.
The five week course is based on the Caterpillar haul truck simulator trainer package and the Mining Industry Skills Centre’s Work Readiness Program.
The initiative uses a mix of on-and-off site practical training with a range of mining equipment.
It aims to answer for skill shortages in regions where mining operations are undertaken, such as the Bowen Basin and Mt Isa Minerals regions.
