DUGLESS Machinery is currently making minor changes to the Dugless 900 before the machine will be ready for work at coal operations around the country.
The 56cm tall Dugless 900 is designed to easily crawl underneath giant conveyor belts to collect and clear any debris that slips off the belt.
Dugless Sales and service representative, Keith Caddy says with six already operating in the Pilbara in Western Australia, stories are already surfacing about how much raw material was being salvaged by the pocket-sized machinery. He has heard of 300 tonnes of iron ore being collected in one 12-hour shift.
By 20 August 2009 the machine is expected to be fully compliant for most Bowen Basin mines.
The Dugless 900 will be on show at the Coal to Coast Sarina festival on August 30 and at the Bowen Mining Expo at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre from 31 August 2009.
