A NEW manufacturing centre in Brisbane will provide Queensland companies with services to boost productivity and increase competitiveness.
The Queensland Enterprise Connect Manufacturing Centre opened its doors to mining equipment manufacturers at the Brisbane Technology Park on 11 September 2008.
Senator Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research [www.innovation.gov.au], says the centre will provide businesses with access to new ideas and technologies by linking them to a network of local and global research.
The centre will work in partnership with existing government programs and touch on mining technology.
The initiative is expected to provide assistance for up to 200 firms in Queensland each year.
