Largest 400t haul truck unveiled in Perth
the MT6300AC haul truck overthrows the CAT 797B and Liebherr T282BTEREX Mining Australia has unveiled the world’s first 400t haul truck at its Mining Australia Open Day in Perth.
According to the company, the MT6300AC haul truck overthrows the CAT 797B and Liebherr T282B to hold records of the world's largest dumpers
The truck features a load capacity of 363t and has a front axle clearance of 0.91m. It also has a 3750hp Tier 2 certified four-stroke engine enabling it to haul larger loads.
The latest model has a modified cab said to optimise safety and visibility, offering drivers more room, including space for two full-size reclining seats.
According to the company, the AC drive allows a maximum speed of 64km/h and has broader dynamic retarding envelope that can stop the truck completely without the use of the mechanical service brake.
Ten MT6300ACs are currently in use at Citic Pacific Mining’s Sino Iron Ore magnetite project in Western Australia, which are due to be commissioned by December 2008.
