HYUNDAI is looking at investing in mineral projects in the Philippines to “start the ball rolling” in its mining investments.
Director of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Horacio Ramos, says the company is shopping around for investments in copper, iron and nickel exploration projects in the country, which contains more than $1 trillion in unexplored minerals.
The company, which manufactures and supplies a range of mining equipment, has interests in manufacturing, automotive, logistics, finance and construction and development projects.
Ramos says the group may construct an office in the country while it continues its search for mining investments.
