P&H MinePro Services (Australasia) has delivered and commissioned a P&H 4100XPC electric mining shovel to Rio Tinto Coal Australia’s Hail Creek mine site.
The new P&H 4100XPC shovel was delivered to the mine site in November, and is the first shovel for Hail Creek Mine.
Fourteen 4100 series machines are currently working within various mine sites in the Bowen Basin, including the 4100XPC, 4100XPB, 4100A and 4100 models. There are also two P&H 2800 series shovels in the region.
This new addition will be the seventeenth P&H shovel in the Bowen Basin.
The P&H 4100XPC shovel is rated at 100+ tonne payload capacity, with a 62.7m3 Optima Plus dipper, which will allow it to three-pass load the latest range of 300+ tonne haulers at the mine site.
It also features the P&H Centurion Control System which in the future can be applied to the current P&H dragline fleet on site.
This shovel is said to provide a variety of benefits, including reduced carbon emissions, bigger payloads, faster cycle times, consistent productivity and smarter systems for a whole new level of performance.
P&H has been involved with the Hail Creek mine site from its inception; delivering a 9020 dragline at the mine in 2004, just shortly after operations commenced. A second 9020 dragline was delivered as part of the mine expansion in 2006.
