Gas project delivers in decibels
The pipeline would be built in about eight months QUEENSLAND residents in Maitland are expected to be majorly impacted by loud equipment to build the proposed Queensland Hunter Gas Pipeline.
The loudest equipment has been measured at 118dBa by a noise assessment, which is louder than a rock hammer at two metres distance.
Affected areas may be provided with earmuffs and temporary noise barriers to deal with loud machinery and equipment.
The pipeline would be built in about eight months by two teams working from 7am to 6pm, seven days a week for 28-day periods.
