Asciano wins major coal haulage contract

Asciano wins major coal haulage contract ASCIANO has secured a 10-year contract to haul coal exports for Anglo Coal in Queensland.

The mining company says that the performance-based deal will start in the 2009/10 financial year.

Asciano says that the arrangement would see its Asciano Pacific National rail business haul up to 5.75m tonnes of coal a year from Moranbah North mine in the Goonyella system.

The coal haulage company also has contracts with Macarthur, Rio Tinto and Xstrata.
