AC drive system reduces environmental impact
The system is designed to power the Tier2 certified Komatsu 860E-1K truckSIEMENS have released an AC drive system for heavy haul trucks said to reduce environmental impact and lower operating costs.
According to the company, the electrical drive system offers payloads of 260t and delivers greater fuel economy.
The system is designed to power the Tier2 certified Komatsu 860E-1K truck, with further developments set for the future.
According to the manufacturer, the trolley-capable system option delivers fuel savings and extends life of the truck’s motor.
The drive system is said to withstand a higher vibration and altitude spectrum and offer a temperature range from -40 to 60 degrees Celcius.
